We are very excited about the 2018-2019 cheerleading season. As in any sport there are rules, procedures and expectations that must be adhered to for the safety and unity of the sport. Cheerleading is an athletic activity that requires athleticism, dedication and teamwork. Each participant is expected to commit themselves to the team. Attending practices, games, and cheerleading sponsored events are mandatory.
This year WAHS cheerleading will have a Varsity and Jr. Varsity Spirit Squads and a Competitive Cheer Squad. Varsity and JV squads cheer for football (August-November) and basketball games (November-February). The Competitive squad competes from August-November. You may not be involved in another varsity sport during the fall or winter seasons if it conflicts with any of your responsibilities as a cheerleader.
Tryout Clinic will be Thursday April 12th from 4:00am-7:00pm in the big gym of West Ashley High School. Tryouts will be the afternoon of April 13th. Times will be assigned by the end of clinic on Thursday.
